River 2D Habitat Modeling
The Lesser Slave River is the only outlet of Lesser Slave Lake. It flows east from the town of Slave Lake approximately 75km to the confluence with the Athabasca River. There are many water users on the Lesser Slave River including forest companies, oil and gas operators, and the MD of Lesser Slave River. This river connects Lesser Slave Lake with the Athabasca River and is an important fish passage. Information on river flows, fish habitat and over wintering areas are important pieces of understanding the dynamics of the river.
With support from Alberta environment and Parks, the LSWC worked with consultants to complete surveys and modeling for several segments of the river.
If you would like to request data sets from these surveys, please contact the LSWC.
